President Bush Vetoes Stem Cell Flim Flam
Abortion Inc Continues The Cruel Hoax Of “Research And Cures”
True to his word, President Bush recently vetoed the latest bill that would force taxpayers to fund the black hole of embryonic stem cell research.
We detailed the complete failure of embryonic stem cell research, versus the success of adult stem cells, in our article “Stem Cell Research And Cures” last November. The article also focused on Abortion Inc’s successful propaganda program of emotionally wrought, and scientifically fallacious ads, that swindled the voters of Missouri into agreeing to fund what amounted to a murderous pig in a poke in last year’s elections.
Ab Inc’s tightly leashed politicians promptly responded to the veto with more of the same. Senator Clinton earned her keep by spouting off this worn out dose of snake oil: “This is just one example of how the president puts ideology before science, politics before the needs of our families.” Oh please!
The true cruelty of the issue lies in this type of outright dishonesty, which is used to manipulate public opinion by holding out false hope to thousands of people desperately praying for a scientific miracle. But that’s just another day at the office for Abortion, Inc. And just another day on the campaign trail for Sen. Clinton.
The true objective of the embryonic stem cell research campaign is to further reduce unborn human beings to objects that can be destroyed on a whim.
Here, once again, are the simple facts. Stem cell research has been conducted, around the world for over 30 years.
There are two types of stem cell research- adult and embryonic. Adult stem cells can be obtained from something as simple as nasal mucous.
Embryonic stem cells can only be obtained by the destruction of a human embryo, the earliest stage of human life.
Adult stem cell research appears to offer significant hope for cures of a wide variety of debilitating illnesses and recovery from crippling injuries.
Embryonic stem cell research has yet to produce any significant advance. Research involving the destruction of human embryos offers no hope, whatsoever, to anyone desperately hoping for a cure. Adult stem cells very well might.
On that basis, the president followed up his veto of the federal pig in a poke, with an executive order for federal agencies to increase support for development of additional types of stem cells that are not derived from human embryos. The order was, of course, deemed “meaningless” by pro-abortion coalitions.
Sen. Clinton, and all the other members of congress who voted to fund this black hole, are also fully aware of the truth here. Moral issues aside, why would the “yeas” vote to waste our tax dollars in flagrant disregard of the facts?
There may have been some sincere, but misguided votes that were influenced by the emotion vs the science; or more likely, by the fear that the voters back home may have been swindled like the voters in Missouri last year.
But, by and large, the yea votes were cast by members of congress who are deeply beholdin’ to Abortion Inc. For some unfathomable reason, abortion has been become the blazing icon of all liberalism. So to offend Ab Inc, on any issue, risks offending liberal voters across the country, no matter what the truth of the issue may be. And the gravest political offense in the eyes of abortion idolaters is voting to protect the life of the unborn.
So best interests of constituents, fiscal responsibility and common sense were cast aside and the yeas dutifully did the bidding of their masters. But fortunately for the country, it was to no avail.
No one here can be confused as a loyal partisan of President Bush. He has given many of his supporters ample reason to regret having cast their votes for him.
But here we have an instance where our president made a correct moral decision that also coincided with fiscal responsibility in government. The president then properly focused the power of the federal government on the type of stem cell research that may lead to the medical miracles that some so desperately pray for.
Compare that to the moral compasses of the “yeas” as described above.
Thank you Mr President
Follow up:
Approximately one week after the stem cell veto, scientists at Oxford and Cambridge announced the discovery of a new type of stem cell in the embryos of mice and rats. This stem cell is virtually indistinguishable from a human embryonic stem cell.
It will be interesting to see how quickly Ab Inc loses interest in embryonic stem cell research if only animal embryos need be involved.

John @ 2:33 am:
While I certainly agree about wisdom of veto, I have read some of your articles in which you criticize President Bush more than strongly on just about everything the man does.
What would John Kerry have done with this bill?
